Popular WOW festival returns to Southbank Centre, but do we still need feminism?

On a Saturday afternoon, the brutalist architecture of the Southbank Centre is usually bustling, from vendors to street artists, tourists and even locals who want to take a stroll along the Thames. On this particular Saturday, the centre was awash with people for an entirely different reason: Women of the World Festival.

Women of the World festival is a popular event that takes place annually over a weekend in March. Full of lectures, seminars and discussion, it aims to tackle the sexism over a wide range of topics such as politics, work, beauty and society. All while empowering and inspiring women in the process.

But although we’ve got Trump in office and the #MeToo movement is a reckoning in full force, we still have people asking the question; Do we still need feminism?
